Ric

Ric is going into his 4th summer of off-season training with the summer hockey program! He also trains year sound with us as part of the athlete program to make sure he is always in game shape. Ric played for the Stings in his earlier years, before jumping up to Jr67’s AAA. He then got drafted to the Kanata Lasers to play U18, and finally this year played with the Ottawa West Golden Knights.
Ric was introduced to The Capital in his minor bantam year when the Jr67’s brought the team to complete some testing. “We did our baseline testing, and that summer I started working out at the capital. It was my first introduction to training with weights and I liked that the coaches had so much expertise and knowledge.”
“When I walked in the gym, it was different from other regular gyms I’d seen before; it felt like the place was just made for training athletes.”
Ric not only trains with us in his off-season, but is part of our year round athlete program. He is given a new program every month and trains during our athlete hours to make sure he not only starts his hockey season in the best shape possible, but maintains his strength and conditioning through his season.
“My favourite part of training at the capital is that when the coaches give me a program I trust it. I’ve become so much stronger, more flexible, and more mobile since I first came here and it’s really allowed me to compete against older, stronger players.”
In three words, Ric describes The Capital as: “Welcoming, Professional, and Effective.”
